Nyborg’s business community sees possibilities in seeing Nyborg’s heritage as a parameter of growth.
On September 21, the Municipality of Nyborg and the Museums of Eastern Funen invited the business community to a meeting at the castle to discuss the possibilities for cooperation that the castle project bears with it.
45 companies were represented at the meeting, which included participants from many lines of work; from industries, hotels, educational institutions, banks and many more.
During the upcoming years, about 300 million kroner will be invested in an expansion of Nyborg Castle. This cannot help but have a positive effect on growth, according to Jan Sandi Sørensen, director of the Spar Nord Bank in Nyborg. He added that the ambition of the project and its spinoff effects must be to bring new residents and more companies to the town. In other words, the companies themselves have an interest in taking advantage of the potential this huge investment in heritage will bring with it.
The business meeting resulted, among other things, in a list of ideas for how businesses could contribute to the castle project, to gladden and benefit the town and the municipality. In addition, a working group of business people was established to concretize the many suggestions and to choose a few of them for further development.
