At Sea - an exhibition

Wednesday, Wednesday, September 4, 2013

Denmark has in relation to its size, a very long coastline. It has always been natural for Danes to travel by the sea. It is estimated  that King Hans was the founder of the Danish fleet in the 1510th. The Danish navy has played an important role in Denmark's history ever since.

This year the Nyborg Marine Society celebrate its 100 years anniversary. Østfyns Museums mark this anniversary  with an exhibition at the Mayers Yard from 31 August to 31 October. The exhibition gives  a brief description of naval history - and everyone gets the opportunity to see the many beautiful model ships and other fine things, which are normally based at the Marine Society at Nyborg Harbour.
